چکیده
This study aimed to evaluate the stress distribution and mechanical behavior of miniplate designs skeletal anchorage for treatment anterior open bite in adult patients. A complete hemimaxilla, teeth, brackets, transpalatal bar, three miniplates were virtually modeled. I-, Y-, T-shaped installed area alveolar zygomatic crest. The assembly was constricted intrusive forces (2, 4, 6 N) applied maxillary molars according miniplates. All materials considered homogeneous, elastic, linear; mesh 1,800,000 hexahedrons with 2,800,000 nodes on average. Displacement, maximum principal stress, von Mises evaluated shape device force. configurations resulted different displacement intensities bone tissue plate; these stresses always located same regions within physiological limits. Y-plate showed best performance since its application generated less displacement.

Treatment of Skeletal Anterior Open Bite Using Absolute Anchorage: A Case Report and Review
Background and purpose: Skeletal anchorage is a new aid for the correction of moderate anterior open bite. This study aimed at treating moderate anterior open bite using posterior intrusion via mini implants. In addition, a review of studies carried out on open bite correction using absolute anchorage was performed. Materials and methods: The following keywords were used: open bite, camouflag...
متن کاملCorticotomy and Miniplate Anchorage for Treating Severe Anterior Open-Bite: Current Clinical Applications
Anterior open bite (AOB) is a term used if there is localized absence of occlusion anteriorly when the remaining teeth are in occlusion; it is commonly one of the main symptoms of an overall dentofacial deformity. Diagnosis, treatment, and retention can be difficult because this malocclusion has numerous correlated etiologic factors. Clinically, it is grouped into 2 main categories: dental or a...
متن کاملBiomechanical considerations in the correction of anterior open bite with maxillary skeletal plates.
In the case shown here, skeletal plates in the zygomatic buttress allowed us to transmit orthodontic forces from the molars to the maxilla for posterior vertical intrusion. This article will examine the orthodontic mechanics needed to control the ratio of the moment of couple (MC) to the moment of force (MF) and the load-deflection ratio, working within the range, strength, and formability of t...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the dentoalveolar and skeletal effects of the new-generation open-bite appliance. SUBJECTS AND METHODS The study group was composed of 11 subjects with a mean age of 19.5 years who underwent intrusion of the posterior dentoalveolar segment using an open-bite appliance supported by bilateral zygomatic implants. The study was carried out on lateral cephalograms of the subj...
متن کاملEffectiveness and Stability of Anterior Open Bite Correction Using Temporary Skeletal Anchorage: Comparison to Surgical Outcomes
The skeletal and dental changes that occur following the intrusion of maxillary posterior teeth with temporary skeletal anchorage (TSA) and the stability of these changes over time were assessed in twelve patients (1 male, 11 females) with anterior open bite. A comparative sample of patients treated with maxillary osteotomy was frequency matched based on age and gender. Lateral cephalograms wer...
